Joshua Leon is an artist and writer. He received his PhD from the Royal College of Art, London, UK in 2023. In his writing and exhibition making Joshua employs a theory of collapse within a broader examination of the lament as a critical space; exploring how archival remembrance, historical research, autobiography and memoir fall into each other.

In this brave talk, Joshua delved into his surgical research process, which forms the core of his artistic methodology. Joshua also discussed the journey leading to his selection for a show at the Chisenhale Gallery and his subsequent exhibition.

Looking ahead, Joshua is preparing to launch "Archive Inferno," an innovative online course and itinerant study group. This eight-week curriculum will offer participants an open and immersive exploration of his artistic and theoretical framework.
