Celeste Baracchi began her journey in the art world with a degree in Art History and Art World Practices from the University of Glasgow. Her career started at Hamiltons Gallery in London, where she catalogued Don McCullin’s extensive works, gaining profound insights into his entire oeuvre. Roles at Phillips Auction House and Carl Freedman Gallery further shaped her understanding of the art world, but it was her experience at Richard Saltoun that influenced her approach at Alma Pearl, emphasising trust and a deep understanding of an artist’s position and practice.
Motivated by a passion for community and creativity, Celeste founded Alma Pearl as a dynamic platform for artistic expression. Alma Pearl quickly became known for its inclusive approach, hosting talks, collaborative events, and Alma Pearl Editions, which produces limited edition publications exploring artists’ works. Celeste’s leadership fosters dialogue and supports emerging artists, transforming Alma Pearl into a vibrant cultural space bridging art and social engagement.
Under Celeste’s guidance, Alma Pearl continues to evolve, pushing boundaries in the art world. Beyond exhibitions, Alma Pearl Editions enriches cultural discourse, deepening engagement with artists’ narratives. Celeste’s journey from academic study to roles in galleries has equipped her with a unique perspective, shaping Alma Pearl into a pivotal institution in contemporary art.
